Layout Revision
One Saturday project was rearranging the living room. It's a challenging room because its square and two sides are dedicated to TV and fireplace. This change put Mother's office toward windows and opened way to kithen. Also employed one of two Iranian rugs bought 3 years ago but not used due to pattern. Other one is 9 by 12. Creates a nice focal point aaaand is actually a very long and dense yarn.

Very interesting. Longer walk from the brown chair to anything, plus outdoor light streaming in, and tripability on red rug, makes it appear to be an ergonomic nightmare. But hey, if it feels right, wear it. :-) Super nice looking room.
ReplyDeleteI think mixing things up is a great idea. They do that sort of staging on HGTV all the time.
Very nice photographs, Atholspud.com.
Looks great! I like the more open pathway to the kitchen, the opposing couches and a little extra exercise is never a bad thing from the brown chair... I could very much benefit from the 'olden' days of standing up to change the channel on the TV myself. Though I would likely take the path of least resistance and simply miss out on the other 999 channels that Comcast offers.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I like it. I think changing the room around is good --- some rooms (as you mention) can be difficult to set up, so trying new arrangements is important.
